LearnSBISD @ GUTHRIE Our LearnSBISD plan has many components that seamlessly work together to provide a high degree of health and safety. ▸ CLASS DAYS/TIMES CLASS TIMES: Zero 6:45-7:30 1st 7:45-9:15 3rd 11:00 -12:30 or 11:15-12:45 4th 1:15-2:45 All Face-to-Face students attend daily at Guthrie. Virtual students are expected to participate in class via zoom every day. Distance-learning students can be 100% virtual at Guthrie with the exception of these programs where face-to-face participation is required multiple days each week: Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, Electrician (TRIO), Navy JROTC, Patient Care Tech, and Pharmacy Tech. ▸ TEMPERATURE CHECKS Temperature checks will be completed daily at the start of our first class period. ▸ HEALTH SCREENER Students and employees shall complete the SBISD Health Screener before entering a bus or campus daily. https://covid19.springbranchisd.com/ If you have tested positive, have had prolonged (>15 min) exposure, or are displaying symptoms of COVID, please complete the screener and report your situation to the school nurse. ▸ FACE MASKS & COVERINGS Face Masks or Coverings are required for all staff and students and must be worn: Properly over the nose and mouth and when physical distancing is not possible or practical. In the classroom, during passing periods, and in common spaces (restrooms, walkways, student center, cafe, vending area, front office, bus waiting areas) On the bus at all times, while waiting for the bus, and while loading and unloading. Masks and face coverings shall be free of any images, words, political slogans, with the exception of an SBISD school or district logo or college logo. Gaiters are an allowable face covering and must be worn appropriately over the nose and mouth. Masks with one-way exhalation valves or vents are not allowed. Failure to wear a mask is considered a health hazard and may result in disciplinary consequences. Face Shields: On occasion, teachers may distribute face shields to students, if needed, to facilitate clear communication for in-person instruction. Students would only be allowed to wear them while seated at their desks, during instruction. If the student needs to move about the room, the mask or face covering must be put on again before getting up from their desk. ▸ ADDITIONAL INFO A note from a health care provider is required if a student or employee has a health condition that inhibits them from wearing a face-covering/mask or due to a religious practice that would require otherwise. Students will request the mask accommodation form from the school nurse, the parent/guardian shall complete the form and return it with the physician’s note to the nurse. All accommodation requests will be approved by the district. If approved the student shall be required to wear a face shield when physically possible. T•2•4•M OPTIONS After high school, earning a two or four year degree, level 1 or 2 certificate, license, serving in the military or entering the workforce should be in your plans.
